8 Months Old...And Some Other Stuff

Evan is 8 months old today. That is just crazy. Crazy. We happen to know how much he weighs because we spent the morning at prompt care. He is up to 20 pounds, 8 ounces. I'm not sure on his length, but he is definitely growing. Oh, and he has an ear infection. Just one, thank goodness. But the poor kid was miserable last night and this morning. It is amazing what medicine will do when he allows me to administer it to him. Grrr...

Notice that his left eye is swollen...because he was so congested. Miserable.
He has a couple of new tricks. One of those is clapping. He is his biggest fan, clapping all of the time for himself! Or maybe he is clapping for us and the fact that we get through dinner or the day? It is super cute. He is still working on crawling. He has the positioning down, but can't quite figure out how his hands and legs are supposed to move in order for him to go forward. Occasionally he waves too. I'm working on making that a more regular occurrence.

Steve has had his moments lately, pushing all of our buttons. However, he makes up for some of it by being the best big brother. This morning at prompt care, Evan was miserable. Steve decided to jump from the step that you use to get on to the exam table. For whatever reason, Evan found this hilarious. So, Steve kept doing it, adding in "cool tricks" and falls (those happen to be the same thing), which made Evan laugh and laugh and laugh. The biggest belly laughs we've heard in a few days. It was awesome.

Nana and Papa arrived on Wednesday afternoon for a few days of Thanksgiving vacation. Of course, we had more food than we knew what to do with, but that's okay. Better to have too much than not enough, right? Grandma joined us for dinner on Thursday and Friday. Friday night we tried out one of the Bartolotta's newest restaurants, Joey Girard's. It was great fun. The boys were really great all through dinner, Evan especially. He had all of the ladies charmed, and even a few guys!

Matt got the Christmas tree out and fluffed on Saturday for us. It took a little longer than it has in the past, but the decorations are up and we even have a few presents waiting for us under the tree. Now, we just have to convince Steve that he can't play with all of the ornaments, open the presents, or rearrange decorations around the house.

Feeling much better with antibiotics and pain relievers hard at work.
Steve would not smile. He loves his new clown ornament, but he just wouldn't smile.

There are some new pictures from my phone here. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
