First Dentist Visit

Steve got to meet his dentist today, Dr. Jenny. She was a very sweet lady and Steve actually spoke to her! (Sometimes he clams up around strangers...I know, SHOCKING.)

Because he isn't 4 yet, he didn't get his teeth cleaned by a hygienist. Dr. Jenny did look at all of his teeth, 20 of them in fact, and reported that they look good and are cavity free! Yippee! In November, he fell off the pool table while playing and hit his teeth pretty hard. I called the dentist office at the time and they said to just keep an eye on it. Most likely it would heal on its own, but if it started bleeding or got really loose, to call back. Every once in while Steve will say that it is wiggly or it hurts, but for the most part it was fine. I made mention of it to Dr. Jenny so she took a picture of his front teeth to check things out. Good news: everything is a-ok. Sort of not good news: she can tell that there has been some trauma to the teeth and they could act up at some point in the future. We are returning in September for his first cleaning, and Evan will also be going along to get his teeth checked out.

The film of his teeth is very cool. It even shows his adult teeth growing in on top:

In other news, we have had a couple of pretty awesome Spring Break days. Yesterday, Jen and her girls came over to play and for homemade taco shells. We made a fort, and three of the 4 kids had a lot of fun climbing in and out!

Today, after the dentist, Steve and I had lunch with Dawn and Gavin, then headed down to Monkey Joe's. It meant no nap for Steve, but we muscled through pretty well.
