I have to admit, we cheated a bit with the first day pictures. His school starts late and we were starting with the regular routine right away (daycare drops off and picks up for us), so we weren't going to have a chance to get pictures of him in front of school and such. So, we went over on Sunday, when no one else was around, and took some great pictures. Then we just had to make sure he was dressed exactly that way when he actually went to school.
A few days into the school year and Steve is loving every minute! On the first day, when Ms. Rachael dropped him off, there was a moment of uncertainty. Then one of the other daycare kids took control and showed Steve where to go, and life was good again. He's been to art, music, and library (where he got to pick out his very own book!). He talks about school a lot. Things come up randomly that he remembers and it is very sweet. I am so happy he loves school!
